You may, according to your convenience, halt the army anywhere here and, after taking rest (for the night), we shall cross the river Ganga tomorrow.

नदीम् river, अवतीर्य descending, स्वर्गतस्य to the departed, महीपतेः king's, और्ध्वदेहनिमित्तार्थम् for the good of his life in the other world, उदकम् libations with water, दातुम् च to offer, इच्छामि तावत् I wish.

Meanwhile, I shall get into this river and offer libations with water to the departed king for the good of his life in the other world.
तस्य his (Bharata's), एवम् in this way, ब्रुवतः while saying, अमात्याः ministers, तथेति 'be it so', उक्त्वा saying, समाहिताः with composed minds, ताम् they, स्वेन स्वेन each of their, छन्देन with pleasure, पृथक् पृथक् separately न्यवेशयन् rested.

After making necessary arrangements for the army on the bank of the mighty river Ganga and pondering over the means of bringing back the magnanimous Rama, Bharata stayed. इत्यार्षे श्रीमद्रामायणे वाल्मीकीय आदिकाव्ये अयोध्याकाण्डे त्र्यशीतितमस्सर्गः।। Thus ends the eightythird sarga in Ayodhyakanda of the holy Ramayana, the first epic composed by sage Valmiki.
